HANDS-ON and Distance Reiki

Usui Reiki healing

Usui Reiki healing session is done by gently placing the hands in a series of positions on and around the patient's body to clear and recharge the body and energy pathways known as chakras or meridians. The patient remains fully clothed and relaxed in a comfortable position during the Reiki session. Distance Reiki healing can also be used without physically attending and in times of social distancing can be a very powerful tool to relax and resore the body and mind from comfort of your home.

Reiki is suitable and safe for adults, children, pregnant women and even animals as it is completely non-invasive.

What is Reiki?

The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ literally translates as 'universal life force energy'. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy that has been taught and used in the UK since the late 1900s, but Eastern medicine has for thousands of years worked with this energy, recognising its flow through all living things. Reiki supports orthodox medicine or can be used alone but is not a replacement for traditional medication or treatments. It is not based on any belief, faith or suggestion, yet, scientific research using quantum physics is starting to help us to understand how Reiki may work to benefit the individual. It has been suggested that in years to come it may be known as energy medicine based on scientifically measurable energy emitted from the healer’s hands.

The 5 Elements mantra

A Yam Ram Mam Kham Dum Du

The 5 Elements mantra healing and practice comes from the Yungdrung Bön Buddhist tradition. It is the oldest spiritual tradition of Tibet. It was developed by Buddha Tonpa Shenrab, around 18 000 years ago. Practice using the 5 Elements mantra harmonises elements in the body, therefore healing any blockages.

The 5 Elements of Space, Air, Fire, Water and Earth are the basis for all that exists. These elements are in constant relationship with one another, and it is this harmony, disharmony, balance or imbalance that determines the health or disease of organisms as well as the development or disintegration of dynamic systems. Many cultures around the world acknowledge the importance of the 5 Elements in both mundane and spiritual activities. Within the Yungdrung Bön tradition, each element has its own distinctive quality that is represented by a specific colour, shape, sound, and direction.  Within our physical bodies, the Earth element is related to our flesh, the Water element is related to our blood, the Fire element is related to our internal heat, the Wind (or Wood according to astrology) element is related to our breath and movement within the body, and the Space (or Metal according to astrology) element is related to our consciousness. In Tibetan buddhist and Yungdrung Bon tradition is believed that when the elements are perfectly balanced within us, we achieved enlightenment.
